Book Review: “Only For The Week” by Natasha Bishop

There’s something about wedding drama that always keeps readers at the edge of their seats, and “Only For The Week” by Natasha Bishop is no exception. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Tulum, this tale dives deep into the tangled web of love, loyalty, and betrayal.

What immediately caught my attention was the audacious character of Janelle Cross. The challenges she faces, both from her family and the complexity of her past relationship with the groom, adds layers to the story. It’s difficult not to sympathize with her as she navigates through the emotional maze, especially when the very people who should stand by her side seem to be against her. However, the silver lining in her tumultuous journey is the enigmatic best man, Rome Martin. Their budding relationship is both endearing and thrilling. The way Rome showers Janelle with attention and affection, especially with unique gestures like renting a yacht for a day of reading, was refreshing to read and left a lasting impression.

The narrative, though, had its moments of sluggishness. While I appreciated the depth of character development, there were points where I yearned for a quicker revelation, particularly about the rift between Janelle and her sister. It would have provided a smoother reading experience had some of these revelations come to light a bit sooner.

Nonetheless, “Only For The Week” offers an engaging storyline with unexpected twists and turns, leading to a satisfying conclusion. The transformation of relationships, especially Janelle finding love and understanding in an unexpected place, is a testament to life’s unpredictability.

In conclusion, the compelling characters and unique romantic gestures made it worth the journey. I would give “Only For The Week” a solid 4 out of 5 stars. For those who appreciate a mix of family drama, romance, and self-discovery, this is a read to consider.
